Today is Orange Shirt Day. Lots of people wore orange, some people wore red and some people wore yellow. We wear orange to honour the survivors of residential schools and their families. Also to honour the students of residential schools who aren't with us anymore. Are you wearing orange today? Just Always Remember, Every Child Matters!

Today in gym we had a substitute. His name was Mr MacDonald. He made us do a running challenge. He ran against us and he ran 3 laps and we had to try and pass him. Only a few people passed him (Jack, Cameron, Jay, Carter, Remy, me, etc.). Then we played Smarties, not the candy just the game. Then in the last couple of minutes we did another running challenge. We did this thing where one person ran and then once they reached the half line the next person in the line ran. Our goal was 01:10. (one minute and ten seconds) and WE were REALLY FAST and did it in 00:59. COOL RIGHT?! So yeah. we did that in Phys Ed. class today.

Each week I will assign a student the responsibility to write a short blog about what has been happening in our classroom or school. I expect at least a paragraph with details on what topics we covered, fun activities we have done, exciting new things they have learned, or their favourite part of the past week! I think it will be very interesting to hear the student's point of view, all while exposing students to a new form of writing!
Happy Blogging my little Bloggers!

Do you want to know all about releasing the fish? Everyone was really sad we did not want the fish to leave. But we all knew they were going to a better place out in the river. First we went to the fish ladder it was amazing we saw the top and the bottom of the fish ladder. And at the fish ladder Mr. Scott sang us a really silly song.P.S. I don't think he liked the song very much. Then we got on the bus again and went to the Sackville river to release the fish .But before we released the fish we had lunch. Then we let the fish go. I was with Emily and we got to do about 3 trips each. After that we all sat
on the bench and Mr. Scott told us haw to play some games. The games were really really fun. Mr.Scott was a great teacher. He is great with the fish and knows a lot about the fish. Now you know how much fun we really had.P.s. we will never forget the fish.
In class we are writing opinions. We all are really excited. Mrs.Banks gave us our topics that we can choose from. All the class has a different topic, some people might pick the same topic. The topic's are "should we have more recess time?" and "should we have more/less homework?". Also"should we get paid for school?"This one I think is awesome! "Should we have a shorter school day?" This one is my favorite. Should I have a cell phone?'Here is another one "should people eat healthier?" This one I don't like at all !"should we have school uniforms?" Here is the last one "should we have more school trip's?". We are starting to write our paragraphs soon . I can't wait until I write my paragraph on "should I have a cell phone?"
On Friday Mr. Scott came and gathered all the fish. Then we went on to the bus and we went down to the fish ladder it is by where they cut all the wood. It was very fun. We got to watch Mr. Scott scoop up all the fish with a net and there's dozens of them. We went down and we got to pick a rock that we could bring home. We went to the bus to the Sackville River behind the ball field to release the fish. We had lunch. We release them and me and Joe were partners. I loved the games. One game is Mr. Scott called out a number. We wore a color and number and there is a number green and a number blue line with our partner. The partner would have to try to get the food before us. In the other game students pretended to be a fish and swim down the river. The teachers had to be the prey. The end .
Tomorrow we are going on a trip to release our fish. All of us are sad about the fish leaving. But the trip should be really fun! Also on Tuesday the 24th we are going swimming at the sports stadium! And we also have brand new computers. They are called chromebooks. I love using them. There is also this feature called google docs where we write on now. and we conference on google docs because we can share our writing through computers. Also in math we learned a new strategy for problem solving. It is called plan, solve, check. The first step is planning where we sketch out the problem and make a prediction. Then we solve the problem. Then we have to check and go over the problem and fix any mistakes. That is what is happening in our classroom.
In class we have new computers they are called chromebooks. The chromebooks are easier to use because they are new and fast. The old ones are so slow and frustrating! They save faster. Everybody has 1 of their own but we can't take them home...SOO COOL RIGHT RIGHT. IF YOU AGREE GIVE ME A COMMENT.

This is about the class newspaper. Today the first class newspaper comes out in my class. Me and the rest of the newspaper crew have been working really hard on the newspaper for a wile. We are well organize and have made great articles that are now in our newspaper. The name of our newspaper is Mrs.Banks Class Newspaper or M.B.C.N for short. I am the editor-in-chief so that means I am the person who passes the finished work that I read over and approved to Mrs.Banks to publish. I am so excited that today the rest of the class gets to read our newspaper. I hope you like our newspaper.
